What does preloved mean?

Preloved toys are previously enjoyed by other Whirli families, returned to us, fully cleaned, sanitised and safety-checked, then made available to buy outright at a reduced price. Same toy, lower price, kinder to the planet.

How do you grade the condition of preloved toys?

Every preloved toy is inspected and graded before listing:Like New: minimal signs of use, looks almost untouched.Good: minor cosmetic wear, fully functional.Fair: visible wear from play, fully functional and safe.The condition is shown on each product page so you know exactly what to expect.

Are preloved toys clean and safe?

Absolutely. Every preloved toy goes through the same cleaning, sanitising and safety-check process as our rental toys at our central facility. They meet UK and EU safety standards.Find out more about our cleaning process.

Do preloved toys come with original packaging?

Most preloved toys arrive without their original retail box, since they've been part of our rental library. They'll be packaged safely for delivery in our reusable Whirli bags or boxes.

Why are preloved toys cheaper?

Preloved toys are priced at around 75% of their token value (so a toy with a 20-token RRP is roughly £15 preloved). The discount reflects that the toy has been previously played with, even though it's been fully refurbished.

Can I buy a preloved toy from my own toy box?

Yes. If you've fallen in love with a toy currently in your toy box, you can buy it outright via the 'keep toy' option in your account. The price is shown before you confirm.

Is buying preloved better for the planet?

Yes. Each preloved toy avoids the energy and materials needed to make a new one, and keeps a perfectly good toy out of landfill. Read about our sustainability impact.

Can I return a preloved toy?

What if my preloved toy arrives in worse condition than advertised?

If you feel the toy doesn't match the condition grade we listed, contact us at hello@whirli.com with photos within 14 days and we'll make it right.

Do preloved toys come with a warranty?

Preloved toys are sold as inspected. We can't offer the manufacturer's warranty on items previously played with, but we guarantee they arrive clean, safe and as graded.
